(Name) was currently dealing with a slightly large issue. As in, it was slight if you asked anyone else about it, but large if you asked her. And what was the problem, you as?

Her boyfriend was a cheater.

Not in the sense that you might think. In fact, Vision was a surprisingly wonderful boyfriend. he knew how to come up with the most amazing and creative ideas as to how he should show her his love. From cute, crafty ideas to idyllic, gourmet dinners in hidden little chic cafés, it was amazing how he came up with them all. She began to wonder how in the world someone who’s only been around a few months came up with them in the first place.

And that’s when she figured it out; He really wasn’t.

Because in the very same night the pair came home from a gorgeous evening of moonlit New York fountain park shows, she’d gone on her blog site to find a very popular post about “10 Things You Have to Try with Your Significant Other”. The fountain show dinner date was number four.

And he’d already used ten through five in the last few weeks.

Vision was using the Internet to cheat his way through the relationship.

“Vish, you sly, Christmas-colored dog.” (Name) mused, shutting her laptop and sliding it away. She’d found four different sites that had dozens of relationship ideas, most of which Vision had used on her. And she wouldn’t deny that they certainly worked; She found herself very taken with his classy, clean approach to their romance.

But that was the big issue. It was too clean. As in, he was following these little suggestions word for word, without a single change or alteration to the instructions. No improv, no artificially intelligent flare...just copy-paste procedures.

It felt robotic. Almost effortless.

“And God knows we can’t have a lazy android on our hands.” She muttered to herself, rising from her seat on the couch and heading towards the elevator to try and find her boyfriend. If she was being totally honest, she’d admit to feeling a tad worried about his attempts of affection (or lack thereof).

’I shouldn’t be worried about how he feels.’ She scolded herself, pressing the button, ’He’s an AI, and he’s still figuring emotions out. Of course he’d consult the Internet he was created from.. Even though he probably has no idea why these ‘romantic ideas’ are romantic in the first place.’ She reasoned with herself, which just made her feel even more conflicted.

And kind of like a romantic guinea pig, of sorts.

“(Name). Hello.” The short and seemingly pleasantly surprised greeting made the woman look up, and into the calculating eyes of Vision himself.

’Speak of the devil.’

“Vision! Just the guy I wanted to see. Here, come sit with me; I want to speak with you.” She told him, taking his larger hand in hers and leading him into the flat, setting him down next to her.

“Have I done something wrong?” He questioned, the matter-of-fact tone making it hard to gauge if he was nervous, calm or indifferent. Just another one of those not-so-great perks of dating Tony’s sort-of-son...thing.

“No! ..Well, sort of. But it’s not your fault, don’t worry! I mean, it’s technically your fault because you’re the one doing it, but-”

“(Name), please tell me what is bothering you. I do not wish to be sitting on the edge of my seat.” He cut her off gently, and she did notice he was floating half an inch above the couch. She giggled at the sight, loving how endearing Vision could unintentionally be.

“I’m sorry, it’s just that...well, I’m kind of concerned about the, um...affections...you’ve been showering me with.”

“Do you feel smothered by my attention?” He asked slowly, though she could practically see the panicked cogs reeling in his head. She shook hers quickly, placing a reassuring hand on his.

“No! No, it’s nothing like that. I just feel that your methods of display aren’t entirely-- well, unique.”

“Is that wrong?” He asked carefully. “I was taking advice from Tony. I thought that you would enjoy the gestures, not dislike them.”

“I-I don’t dislike them! I’m very, very thankful for them. I know you’re just trying to be sweet, but you don’t need to use the Internet for all your ideas.”

“...You know I have ‘consulted’ the Internet because I do not know what else to do.” He mentioned, and she nodded, feeling a bit awkward. This wasn’t going quite how she’d planned; Vision was looking a bit more nervous than he’d let on, and a nervous Vision wasn’t a good thing.

“Y-Yes, I know, and that’s fine. It really is! It’s just that...well...I feel that you...don’t really...um…”

“(Name).” He urged her quietly, hand tensed under hers. She averted her gaze, trying to find the proper words.

“I just don’t feel like they’re from you. You know? Like.. They aren’t things that Vision would do.”

“But I did do them.” His brow furrowed, completely lost in her reasoning. She bit back a frustrated noise, trying to figure out how to explain her meaning.

“I know that they were, but you see that they weren’t ever any different from the actual sites you got them from. I found some of the suggestions on blogs around the Internet, and I couldn’t help but notice you followed the instructions word for word.”

“That is how you are supposed to follow instructions.” He said blankly, making her laugh softly. She began to play with his fingers some, his hand increasingly more interesting than his face.

“I guess, but I mean...there weren’t any improvisations or just little changes, none whatsoever. It felt very robotic, and it didn’t feel like you really meant any of it. Which sounds really rude when I say it out loud.” She realized, smiling sheepishly.

“I suppose that is a byproduct of being an android.” He mentioned in that tone that made wish she could just make him not a naive half-robot.

“I get that, Vision. But the thing is, I want to see something that you would do for me. What is something that’s totally unique, that only Vision does to show affection? Y’know? Like, what’s your idea of romance, I guess?” She asked him simply, and he fell silent for a moment, trying to find an answer.

“...I would research the Internet to find ideas.”

“Oookaaaay, let’s try something aside from the Internet. No help, no instructions, just Vision.”

“But-”

“I know that you want to use it to try and find cute and fun little suggestions. But I just don’t feel like it’s coming from you, I feel like it’s coming from some stranger on the other side of the world with a computer! I want to be loved by Vision, not a random blogger. ..Do you get it?” She checked carefully, knowing that what she said could either be taken the right way or wrong.

And she hoped and prayed he wouldn’t take it wrong.

’This was a stupid idea, this was a stupid idea, this was a stupid idea’ Just kept running through her head when she saw Vision’s confused expression. She knew he couldn’t help it, and yet she felt like he could do more. And she also felt like a selfish little kid because of it.

“I...think I understand.” He finally said, rising from the couch. She watched him stand with cautious eyes, hoping she didn’t offend him with her words. That would just make her feel even more miserable.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. However, I need some time to think on what you’ve said. I will be back soon.” Was all he replied with, and without another word he disappeared into the elevator.

Her gaze lingered on the doors, trying to register the fact that Vision literally just disappeared in the course of twenty seconds. She groaned, flopping back on the couch and burying her face in a pillow.

“Great job, (Name). You just scared off the only boyfriend you’ve had in years. All because of a stupid little gripe about him  using the Internet. Stupid, stupid, STUPID me.”

’I just hope he doesn’t resent me for being so rude.’

A few hours passed since that little excursion, and with every moment she didn’t see Vision or hear from him, the worse she felt. It sort of really very sucked, especially because he always found time to at least float by and say hello.

Going this long without him kind of sucked.

She sighed, sinking further into her sadness as she trudged over to the fridge and pulled out a small tub of her personal gelato (that she’d share with him on occasion). He seemed to really enjoy it, so she preferred to save some for him instead of just snarf the whole thing down like she used to.

But today was one of those rare exceptions.

“I really hope he won’t be mad at me…” She mumbled to herself, plopping back down on the fancy Tower couch and trying to focus on the news. “Though he’ll probably be upset when he finds out I ate the last of the gelato.”

“I won’t be upset. Perhaps a bit down, but other than that, I believe I will survive.” Vision’s voice disrupted her personal muttering, and she swiveled around to see Vision standing there, spoon nearly in her mouth.

“Vision!” She said simply, and he smiled, floating above the floor lightly and standing before her on the couch. “How...how are you?”

“I am well. In fact, I have spent the last few hours contemplating everything you told me.”

“Oh...y-you have?” (Name) tried to hide the slight fear in her voice, but the dread was definitely apparent in that tiny smile she offered. Vision nodded, reassuring her with a light grin of his own.

“Indeed. And if it is alright,” He paused, slowly taking the spoonful of gelato and sliding it into his own mouth, “I would love to show you.”

“You are such a sly little thing.” She laughed, enjoying the sensual display. ..Even if it cost her a spoonful of gelato. Vision’s grin widened, and he set the spoon aside to take her hand.

“Come. I am sure you will enjoy what I have planned.” He promised, leading her up off the couch towards the window. For a moment, they both stared outside drinking in the lovely sights of New York’s bright night life. When he didn’t really move, her brow furrowed.

“Um...is this what you had planned?” She asked confused. Vision shook his head, beaming when he pressing his fingers against the glass. It was one of his many capabilities; Being able to phase through things.

And if someone was touching him, they could, too.

’Wait a second.’

“V-Vision? Wha-aaat are we doing??” (Name)’s voice rose slightly. “You do realize we’re on the sixty-seventh floor in the Tower, right??”

“Yes.” He agreed, and the lack of emotion in her voice made her feel all the more certain he was trying to get rid of her.

’He’s so mad about my insensitivity he’s gonna get rid of me. I knew it! I was just an experiment to see if he could sucker other girls into his weird little strawberry colored trap and throw them off buildings, too!’

“Do you trust me?” Vision questioned quietly, steely blue eyes locking with (e/c) ones. She paused. Of course she did. ..Just maybe not in this situation.

“W-Well...I do. But-”

“Then hold on to me.” He directed her, looping her arms around his neck just as they passed through the glass barrier.

It took all she had not to screech.

“Visiiiiiiiion!” She grasped onto him, desperately trying to NOT fall hundreds of feet to her death. Vision’s arms wrapped around her legs and back, holding her close to his chest.

"Do not worry. I won't let you fall." He assured her, "Though I do find your panic slightly endearing."

"I knew you secretly liked to tease me." She muttered. Vision just smiled, holding her closer as they ascended farther up into the sky.

"It can be entertaining at times, I will admit." Vision mused, though he'd lost her focus to the shrinking ground below.

And after they passed the tip of the Tower, she was officially beyond nervous.

"Vision, are you sure this is a good idea??" She stuttered, and he regarded her for a moment.

"I could always go lower, if you'd like. Though I feel you won't get the full effect of the view.”

“The view?” She repeated, and he nodded, nudging his face towards the ground below. “Take a look.”

And did she ever.

(Name) gasped softly, staring at all the beautiful, flashy lights of cars and businesses zooming and twinkling by down below. They contrasted brilliantly with the rich night skies, darkening even the stars. It made the attention fall on the shiny little jewels rolling about on the ground. The only time hundreds of cars looked alright in traffic.

It was absolutely breathtaking. Since she couldn’t fly, there was no way she’d ever seen anything like it.

“Vision, this is beautiful!” She breathed, her arms relaxing around his neck as they took in the sights. Vision’s posture changed, so it was as if they were sitting in midair. She sat securely on his lap, relaxing against him as they admired the dazzling city lights.

“When you told me how you felt about my little...cheats, I figured I would have to think long and hard on how to show you how I felt, my way. Sitting around and brooding about it didn’t help, so I figured a nice long flight would do me well. It was about halfway through that I realized how much I love the beautiful view from way up here...and how I’m one of very few who have access to it. And considering your love of scenic landscapes, I figured you might enjoy it as much as I do.”

“You were definitely right.” (Name) whispered, leaning against his chest with a content smile. “This is amazing, Vision. I’m… Gah, I’m so happy you did this for me.” Was all she could manage, looking up at him with sparkling eyes. “And I want to apologize for what I said to you before.”

“There is no need. You were right. I should have looked into my own mind for ‘ideas’ when it comes to taking care of you. It is the least I can do, since you do it for me.”

“I won’t lie, it’s pretty tricky coming up with things to do for you that’ll make you happy. The Internet tempted me once or twice.”

“Just keep purchasing the gelato iced treats, and I will be happy.” He said, making her laugh happily. The sound was music to his ears, allowing him to return a bright grin to her.

“I definitely will. You know...I love you, Vision.”

“And I...I-I feel my contact with you is-- stronger than ever before.”

“Still can’t say the ‘L’ word, huh?” She grinned, kissing his jawline sweetly. His gaze averted back to the ground below, the sheepish little expression giving her that fuzzy, endearing feeling again. “Don’t worry. We’ll work on it.”

“I happily await your assistance.” He managed, his infinite stone gently touching her forehead. (Name) beamed, pretty sure her heart had melted through her shoes and was a big puddle on the ground far, far beneath them.

Not that she cared, though. The rest of their evening was full of sweet words and streets of twinkling lights. And it was one that neither would be able to forget.

“Vision?? What was that?”

“I believe that was Tony pounding his fist against the window.” Vision observed, looking towards the floor of Avengers Tower directly across from where they floated. Tony stood there, a big poster pressed against the glass and the goofiest, most annoying grin on his face.

#GetSome #Visionx(Name) #MyOTP

“...I think Tony’s been spending more time on the Internet than you, Vision.”

#btw took a picture and its trending on tumblr and twitter
Were the words scrawled across the other side when he flipped the poster over, sending them a thumbs up.

“I believe you mean the wrong side of the Internet.”

“True that. ..Even though I secretly live there.”

“Beg pardon?”

“Nothing!”

Headcanons: Vision's a sucker for gelato. Story on that coming soon. Also, he uses
the Internet a lot. If Ultron can download himself, he can too xDDDD

That and I just imagine New York City being gorgeous at night time, from the sky. And since he's the only
one who really has all access to it, might as well share it with reader, right? ;-D
